Taylor’s Eye Witness were founded by John Taylor in the early years of the 19th Century. The Eye Witness trademark was registered in 1838. The company have been making knives in their Sheffield factory for over 150 years, employing highly skilled Sheffield craftsmen with an unrivaled knowledge. Through an unrelenting dedication to quality, service, and technical know-how the company has stood the test of time. The Taylor’s Eye Witness Works, a grade II listed building, is believed to be the only traditional works in Sheffield which still manufactures its original products.

- 19cm (7.5”) Chef’s knife
- 19cm (7.5”) Bread knife
- 19cm (7.5”) Carving knife
- 13cm (5”) Utility knife
- 9cm (3.5”) Paring knife
Each knife has a robust full-tang construction and is produced from high quality taper ground stainless steel. The non-stick blades are covered in a hard wearing colour coating.
The eye catching set is very visually appealing and refreshingly different. This knives are fun, fashionable, and affordable and will brighten up your kitchen. Each knife has a different colour which makes them easy to tell them apart, a feature which may be of use for the partially sighted. It is easy to see the knives in the washing up bowl.
The knifes are stored in a clever acrylic block which can be aligned vertically, or fanned out to really show off the blade colours.
Each knife is easy to grip and comfortable to use. The Chef’s knife slices cleanly through meats and vegetables. The bread knife is a bit of a weak link though, not gliding through loaves as easily as you would want it to, but this is compared to more expensive knives. My only other concern is the durability of the plastic block.
At this price point these knifes are not for kitchen professionals or serious hobbyists but they are a great set of first knives for money and made for those who cook a few times a week.

Conclusion
The Taylor’s Eye Witness 5 Piece Dexterity Coloured Knife Blockoffers great value for money. It is hard to fault these coloured knives for the price. Keep them away from young children though as these very sharp knives could easily be mistaken for toys due to the vibrant colours.

Paul says
I owned these knives. Impulse buy. Attracted to the funky colours. I had them for a few months and they brighten up the kitchen. I have found them to work well for everyday but a little flimsy for my needs. I wish I’d realised the plastic coating is not dishwasher safe . The acrylic holder has developed unsightly cracks. I have given them away as really not what I needed. Price wise should have invested in better quality knives or just stuck with my disparate collection over a period of twenty years. Mostly Sabatier now vintage!
