The all purpose knife is another winner here and you’ll probably find yourself using it all the time. Again it has a very good weight and balance to it and can handle so many foods. With the ground, tapered blade, you won’t find yourself sharpening these very often at all and they remain extremely sharp for a long time – so watch out.
The knife block is very unique in that it will genuinely suit any kitchen. Its wooden body sits on top and slick metal foot with ‘Sabatier Trompette’ set into it, adding to the super modern styling. For modern, metallic kitchens this block will fit right in but the light wood will also allow it to look at home in more heritage, wood based kitchen styles.

Richardson Sheffield is normally moderately expensive but you can get this set for a great price. The quality is second to none and each knife happily lives up to the Sabatier reputation with ease. The knife block itself looks so good that the knives would have to be really poor quality to not fall in love with it, and considering they’re all fantastic, the whole set just lights up the kitchen.
With an essential selection of kitchen knives, this set would be well received by a day to day domestic chef or a cook who really relished style and quality. Each knife is a pleasure to use, especially the bread knife, and this has got to be one of the best 5-piece sets around.
